At petticoat lane market.

Yesterday night I walked past a shop where a tea light started a fire! What do you do nowadays in these situations? You make a video!! Exactly. See below.

It’s interesting to see how quickly such fire spread. First it started with a napkin, then some weird white chipmunk/squirrel/bunny decoration, then the floor (because the poor chipmunk dropped on the floor and continued burning there). Within 3-4 minutes the whole store was pitch black from smoke.

Did you ever wonder how these hand towel machines in toilets do their unrolling-magic ?

I did and I found out how today, as I walked past an open hand towel machine. Inside was a diagram describing its new, perhaps illegally modified, version of its modified recess mech loading technique. Now, when looking at the diagram please remember that it’s only a sketch, as pointed out in the title of the graphic. A sketch, it’s not how it works in reality! Haha .. it’s not a fucking turbo jet engine, it’s unrolling a cotton towel!

Anyway, this week I had my 1st year review on Tuesday. Basically, you present your work from the last year to your second supervisor and they (second and first supervisor) decide whether your work is satisfactory enough or not. I passed though ..

On Thursday, we had our away day from our research group. So there I had to give the second talk in this week. I presented my new paper (author notification of that paper is mid december!) and eventhough it wasn’t a great talk we still got good feedback I think.

Just now, we had viewings for my room! Lots of nice people came and my housemates have to decide for one of them. I’m moving out end of November to my new flat close to Aldgate East/Commercial street! Pics of that flat will follow at the end of this month..

At one point, we had a Ninja in our house :-/
